Andrea Aldana presents “Lower Cape Housing and Community Development Initiatives”

The Community Development Partnership (CDP) is a nonprofit community development corporation helping people live, work and thrive on the Lower Cape since 1992. CDP supports a vibrant year-round economy by working with small business owners, including fishermen and shellfishermen. Andrea Aldana, CDP’s Director of Housing Advocacy explains what CDP is doing to preserve and create affordable housing opportunities. Andrea Aldana was born and raised in Miami Beach, Florida, a first generation US-born daughter of Colombian immigrants. She holds a BA in Urban Studies from New York University with a minor in Environmental Science. She first joined the Community Development Partnership in 2011 as a volunteer, then as Office Manager and now as the Director of Housing Advocacy. Her primary focus is supporting the creation of affordable housing by managing the Lower Cape Community Housing Partnership. She also manages CDP’s homeownership education program including the in-person First Time Homebuyer Workshops and Online Homeownership education. Andrea serves on CHAPA’s (Citizen’s Housing and Planning Association) Policy Leadership Council and is on the Board of the Wellfleet Farmer’s Market.
