Join us on November 17, 2024, to meet the Ntumba family: Tony, Joelle, and Pearl from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), along with their American citizen baby, Faith.
Tony, Joelle, and Pearl arrived in the United States from the DRC at different times. Tony worked for many years as a photojournalist for the United Nations in the DRC. His work, which involved exposing the realities of turmoil and corruption in the region, led to significant danger; he was abducted and tortured by authorities. Afterward, he obtained a visa through the United Nations and traveled to the U.S., where he applied for asylum. He has been waiting for an immigration hearing for ten years. Joelle followed several years later, and their daughter Pearl eventually joined them in this country.
The Nauset Interfaith Association Refugee Team has been privileged to know and partner with this family, and to offer support in various ways – referrals to legal help, assistance in moving to new locations, and continuous financial support, thanks to funds given by congregations and individuals to the RST through Nauset Interfaith Association.
Learn more at 10 a.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at the Chapel in the Pines in Eastham. Doors open at 9:30. Also on Zoom via this Zoom program link.
